Incorporating Mobile Learning Project
Dublin (IR), July 2007 - On September 7, 2007, the Taking Learning Mobile Conference takes place at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dublin. The event will discuss the resources, technologies, and challenges facing the incorporation of mobile learning into mainstream education and training. The conference is the closing event of Mobile Learning - Incorporating Mobile Learning into Mainstream Education and Training project.
Addresses at the conference include topics such as personalised learning, SMS services in distance education, the use of podcasting technology in learning processes, as well as case studies on how mobile learning is being implemented in real higher education learning situations.
The Mobile Learning project sets out to provide guides, systems and modules for mobile learning and to trial them with real students. All universities and institutions of higher education have frequent needs for communication with their students. This can be done by letter, email, or SMS messaging to the students' mobile phones. The Mobile Learning Academic Administration kit
is designed to help institutions and staff to introduce SMS messaging for administrative purposes.
Mobile learning is the provision of education and training via Personal Digital Assistants, smartphones, and mobile phones. The project partners offer a hands-on, how-to-do-it guide for education and training institutions.
