ILIAS Conference - Are You Ready for the Next Steps?

Bern (CH), June 2011 - The ILIAS conference 2011 is coming to Bern, Switzerland 18-19 August 2011. The two-day conference offers keynotes, presentations, and workshops on several topics around the open-source LMS ILIAS.




ILIAS is a powerful and flexible tool for learning and collaborating online. It serves as a knowledge and collaboration platform. ILIAS is not restricted to any particular didactic model but instead supports a variety of uses and methods. ILIAS is open-source software that can be used without having to pay a license fee, and the further development of the product can be influenced.

The annual ILIAS Conference has taken place since 2002. It is the most important user meeting of the international ILIAS LMS community.

Shortly before this year's ILIAS conference, the ILIAS team published version 4.2 of the open-source learning-management system. In his keynote speech, Matthias Kunkel, managing director of ILIAS, ILIAS product manager, and a member of ILIAS development core group, will present the development plans and strategies for 2011 and beyond.

A further keynote will show how ILIAS has been used to deliver high-end multimedia training courses that use 3D animation, videos, and interactivities for enterprise customers with 30,000+ users. Additional feature integrations include offline module delivery and tracking, Flash user interface, integration with content-management systems (particularly Joomla!), and e-commerce solutions.

The enterprise solutions to be highlighted will comprise of clients from not only the financial sector but also the healthcare industry. ILIAS will be showcased as the obvious choice for an open-source learning-management system due to its robust feature set, stability, and malleable integration with third-party software.

Presentations and workshops will be held in English and German with extensive translation provided, especially regarding the keynotes.
