New Content Strategy

SBB Relies on the CREALOGIX Stage Authoring Tool

Zurich (CH), September 2016 - Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) has decided to deploy the Stage authoring tool from CREALOGIX Digital Learning for the development of learning content for its employees. The Zurich-based company won SBB’s public tender for “Content Authoring & Delivery” and integrated its product into the system environment of the Swiss rail and transport company within a few months. Working together, they have developed over 100 learning programmes for use throughout the company since January 2016.

With the introduction of a learning-management system at SBB, the SAP strategy has been implemented throughout the company, replacing the previous learning and content- management systems at the end of 2015. George Streit, Senior Training Specialist at SBB, explains the reasons, commenting "To be able to continue creating training content, we needed a separate content-authoring tool. Following an appropriate tendering process, the contract for the 'Content Authoring & Delivery' project was awarded to CREALOGIX. The cost/benefit ratio and the contractual framework conditions were what tipped the decision in favour of Stage." CREALOGIX is entering into a cooperative arrangement with the SBB for a period of five years.

Against the background of ever-changing requirements on employees, eLearning courses help build up expertise. With the Stage authoring tool from CREALOGIX Digital Learning, learning modules and electronic tests can be produced efficiently and without any programming skills. The tool guarantees standardized processes and ensures quality for the company. Mobile learning also provides increased flexibility for the end user.

George Streit added, "With the introduction of the template-based authoring tool with integrated CI/CD, SBB has increased its efficiency in the development and production of electronic training content (eLearning modules) for staff training. The guaranteed system compatibility with LMS Success Factors means that it has been possible to transform the various divisional training platforms, which have grown over time, into one centralized learning and content-management system for SBB."

Urs Widmer, CEO CREALOGIX Digital Learning, said, "We are proud that SBB chose the Stage solution from CREALOGIX after a very comprehensive evaluation process. After the contract was awarded, Stage was rolled out to the various training departments within two months. Six months later, it is impressive to see the quality and quantity of the multilingual, interactive learning content that has been produced by the internal departments of SBB."
