Transforming the Landscape at SITE
Austin, TX (USA), January 2012 - SITE 2012 is the 23rd annual conference of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education. It is being held in Austin, Texas on 05-09 March 2012. SITE is the only organization that has the integration of instructional technologies into teacher-education programs as its sole focus.
This Society represents individual teacher educators and affiliated organizations of teacher educators in all disciplines who are interested in the creation and dissemination of knowledge about the use of information technology in teacher education and faculty/staff development. SITE is a society of the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE).
SITE promotes the development and dissemination of theoretical knowledge, conceptual research, and professional practice knowledge through conferences, books, projects, and the Journal of Technology and Teacher Education (JTATE).
Participants are invited to attend this annual international forum, which offers numerous opportunities to share ideas, explore research, development, and applications, and to network with the leaders in the important field of teacher education and technology.
There are over 1,500 presentations in 25 major topic areas.
Teachers and school leaders are invited to participate in sessions on practical, effective ways to teach with technology in today's schools. The Teaching with Technology Forum is especially geared at K-12 teachers, school administrators, and school technology coordinators. Classroom-related, practical sessions will be offered on most SITE Conference topics, and educational leaders can share practical ways to bridge conventional school practice with informal learning.
