Programme of Going Global 2012
London (UK), January 2012 - Going Global has extended its conference to two-and-a-half days and created new and innovative ways for speakers to share their unique perspectives. Check out a sneak preview of a couple of the forty+ conference sessions.
Collaborative learning through technology - bridging the content divide
Bridging the digital divide - developing technologies for the developing world - is a worthy aim, but technologies are only part of the story. Content is key, whether by embracing open educational resources or harnessing the cloud. This session will explore the point at which education meets social networking - where informal and formal learning meet.
The emerging knowledge economy and building winning formulas for higher education
During this session Dr. Ingo Rollwagen of Deutsche Bank Research will speak about his theories on how a more distributed creation of knowledge and more sophisticated approaches to knowledge transfer are leading to the emergence of high-value knowledge networks. Dr. Javaid Laghari of the Higher Education Commission in Pakistan will set out his thinking around what this means for developing countries like Pakistan and their aims to increase knowledge capital to aid economic development.
Dr. Abul Azad Chowdury of the University Grants Commission in Bangladesh and Dr. Arkalgud Ramaprasad of the University of Illinois at Chicago will further set out what they believe are the main challenges in mapping out a higher-education system that is fit for purpose.
Going Global is happening in London from 13-15 March 2012.
