International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies
Rome (IT), May 2012 - This annual international conference on advanced learning technologies and technology-enhanced learning is organized by IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Technical Committee on Learning Technology. This year's edition will be held in Rome 04-06 July.
The 2012 edition of ICALT is designed to inspire learning, foster creativity, and discuss complex educational experiences and their monitoring, as well as ubiquitous learning and flexible environments.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- learning systems, environments, and architectures
- adaptive, personalized, and context-aware technology-enhanced learning and education
- virtual worlds for academic, organizational, and lifelong learning and education
- ambient intelligence and smart, flexible environments for learning and education
- the school of the future and future classrooms.
The twelfth edition of this event introduces a new track on "European Projects" that
- demonstrates the current or projected impact of European projects on technology- enhanced education;
- presents concepts and prototypes produced by ongoing European projects that are expected to have a relevant impact on technology-enhanced education;
- provides critical analysis of past and ongoing experience.
The Conference organizers have received submissions from 51 countries.
The keynote speakers include Adrian Cheok, Director of the Mixed Reality Lab, National University of Singapore; Ton de Jong, Faculty of Behaviorial Sciences, University of Twente; and Harold Jarche, Chairman of the Internet Time Alliance.
ICALT2012 will be held in Rome at the headquarters of the National Council of Research (CNR) and is organized by the IaD School of the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
