The Presidents' Summit on Open Education Models
Bali (ID), May 2014 - The programme and keynote speakers have been announced for this year's ICDE Standing Conference of Presidents (SCOP) meeting, which will gather the leadership of institutions with a stake in blended learning and open and distance learning.
To be hosted 19-21 November on the island of Bali by the Indonesian Open University, Universitas Terbuka, the meeting will focus on issues from developing strategies for sustainable business models to finding strategic pedagogical approaches.
The high-profile keynote speakers include
- Martin Bean, Vice-Chancellor of The Open University and Founder of Future Learn, United Kingdom on “"The Future of Technology in Higher Education: Challenges and Opportunities for Open Education";
- Wayne Mackintosh, OER University, OER Foundation, New Zealand and ICDE Chair in OER on "Strategies for Developing Sustainable Business Models in the Era of Openness" and
- Lisa Daniels, Assistant Vice President, Institutional Effectiveness, Excelsior College, USA on "A Strategic Approach for Quality: Learning Analytics".
Other programme highlights include
- Buzz Group discussion on the future of technology in higher education and strategic approaches for quality
- a Policy Forum co-organized with UNESCO
- Working Group sessions on the role of digital marketing and learning analytics
- Focus Groups on models for sustainable blended learning and institutions' initiatives on OER and MOOCs
