Match Making & Expertise Exchange
Kuala Lumpur, July 2006 - From 11-14 September 2006 European and Asian experts will meet at the Crown Princess Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to discuss the best practices and common issues of eGovernance in the context of Knowledge Management. The International Conference on eGovernance Enhancement via Knowledge Management (EG²KM) is supported by the European Commission's Asia IT & C Programme.
The event is being hosted by METEOR Sdn Bhd, which represents a consortium owned by eleven Public Universities in Malaysia, the Open Universities of Malaysia and United Kingdom, as well as the University of La Rochelle, France. The two-day conference will serve as an intellectual platform on KM during which the participants from public and private sectors and renowned ICT experts from EU and Asian countries can share their experience and ideas.
A Business Match-Making Event on ICT / Knowledge Management (KM) Products and Services will be held on 11 September 2006. It will allow face-to-face meetings between ICT/KM Solution Providers and participating government departments and corporate bodies.
A workshop to be held on 14 September 2006 will introduce the KIWI project. KIWI (Building Innovative Knowledge Management Infrastructure within European Public Administrations) has been designed to develop innovative knowledge management (KM) infrastructures that will transform European public administrations at any level into knowledge-driven and dynamically adaptive learning organisations that fully empower their public employees to be knowledge workers.
Workshop attendees will have the opportunity to learn effective knowledge management architecture via the KIWI project's deliverables and gain hands-on experience in the presence of one of KIWI's technical experts.
