Researching Open Content in Education
Milton Keynes (UK), April 2007 - The call for papers has just opened for the Openlearn 2007 conference: Researching Open Content in Education. The conference will be held 30-31 October 2007 near The Open University in Milton Keynes, UK.
The ways in which people can learn are changing with new opportunities to learn at a distance, to learn as part of global community, and to learn using new technologies. Open and free educational resources are an important component in this expanded world of learning, and major initiatives are now underway to provide such resources.
This conference recognises the research challenge as well as the business challenge of providing, using, and sustaining free and open resources. Therefore, both scientists and business people, but also all individuals interested in open content research and the latest results in the field are cordially invited to participate in the event and contribute a paper to be considered for presentation.
There is no charge for conference participation; priority for registration will be given to those responding to the call for papers. Selected papers will be developed for publication in a special issue of the Journal of Interactive Media in Education.
The four main themes are:
- Research agenda
- Sustainability
- User experience
- Software and tools.
