Riyadh (SA), February 2009 - The book Cases on Technological Adaptability and Transnational Learning: Issues and Challenges is currently inviting contributions. Editors are Dr. Siran Mukerji and Dr. Purnendu Tripathi from the Arab Open University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This collection of cases will analyze and evaluate how organizations and institutions of learning in the developing and developed world are adapting to technology for providing educational opportunities with a transnational perspective. The book will focus on how organizations have adapted to the advancement in information-and- communication technology in order to successfully face the demands posed by Social, Technological, Economic, and Political (STEP) factors.
The principal objective of this book is to present a comprehensive volume of institutional cases considering the STEP dimensions of various countries. The cases will identify the issues and challenges that have been instrumental in bringing about changes in organizations related to the STEP factors by providing opportunities for learning, growth, and development through a blend of traditional and technological methods.
This book will provide an international platform to policy makers, educators and trainers, educational administrators, and researchers through which they can contribute and share their experiences, ideas, attitudes, and perspectives on how institutions in their respective countries are addressing the core issues of social accessibility, technological adaptability, economic viability, and political agreeability towards providing education and development opportunities.

Authors are encouraged to send cases on their institutional experiences in learning, training, and development in the transnational perspective.
Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before 15 March 2009, a two-to-three-page case proposal clearly explaining the mission and concerns of their proposed case. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by March 31, 2009 about the status of their proposals and sent case guidelines. Full cases are expected to be submitted by May 31, 2009. All submitted cases will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
This book is scheduled to be published by IGI Global (formerly Idea Group Inc.), publisher of the "Information Science Reference" (formerly Idea Group Reference), "Medical Information Science Reference," and "IGI Publishing" imprints. This publication is anticipated to be released in the second half of 2010.
