Vienna (AT), September 2009 - Knowledge work and knowledge-worker productivity, as well as self-development and lifelong learning, were central themes in the work of Peter F. Drucker, the "father of modern management". His centenary will be celebrated at the 1st Global Peter Drucker Forum Vienna 2009 on 19 - 20 November.
World-leading management thinkers and practitioners such as Yves Doz, Charles Handy, Philip Kotler, and Peter Lorange will converge at this landmark conference. They are united by the conviction that Peter Drucker, who passed away four years ago, has provided the society with a legacy that can help us master the challenges ahead.
Given Drucker's importance of for modern management, the general conference is sure to attract a worldwide audience. The target is to broaden the awareness of Drucker's Viennese and European roots. The event will create a common platform for a dialogue among managers, business school and university professors, economists, consultants, and other interested parties to discuss the future of management in the light of Peter Drucker's work.
