EDEN 2010 Annual Conference - Programme Now Online
Brussels (BE)/Valencia (ES), May 2010 - EDEN has announced that the detailed programme for its annual conference, with the schedule of plenary and parallel sessions, is now available on the event's website. The gathering convenes 09-12 June 2010 in Valencia, Spain.
Keynote speakers include Martin Bean, Martine Vidal, and George Siemens, who will help to concretize the conceptual frame of the conference with strategic keynotes. The effort will be extended by Maruja Guiterrez-Diaz and Brian Holmes, who will introduce "ICT for Education in Europe and the New EU2020 Strategy".
Workshops will be offered by ranking experts, including Grainne Conole (The Open University, United Kingdom) on "The Open University Learning Design Initiatives - New Approaches to Supporting The Design of Learning" and Rita Falcao (University of Porto, Portugal) on "VIRQUAL: Harmonizing Virtual Mobility and the European Qualification Framework".
The tradition of awarding the EDEN Conference Best Research Paper will be continued, in collaboration with the Ulrich Bernath Foundation for Open and Distance Learning.
Furthermore, based on collaboration between EDEN and IMS Global Learning Consortium (GLC), some top research papers submitted for the Conference will be selected to be forwarded as finalists into the IMS annual Learning Impact Award Competition.
The EDEN Secretariat is taking care of the registration for the 2010 Annual Conference via an online registration form. The registration fee includes all conference facilities, the Conference Proceedings on CD-ROM, the Book of Abstracts, the Welcome Reception on 09 June, and lunches and coffees on 10-12 June. Combined EDEN membership and Conference fee discount packages are on offer.
The Conference dinner and EDEN Dancing will be organised on 11 June in "Les Graelles", a typical Valencian restaurant in the city centre, near "Jardin del Turia". A live jazz band and Discomovil will provide entertainment for the delegates.
The Welcome Reception, enabling delegates to get to know with each other and start networking, will take place on 09 June at the Conference venue at the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia. The 2010 EDEN Fellow Awards - in recognition of the Members' contribution to the development of open, distance, and eLearning in Europe - will be presented during the reception.
