EuroMedia Awards

Call for Applications Now Open

Vienna (AT), June 2010 - The European Society for Education and Communication (ESEC) will award the EuroMedia Awards in October 2010. The Awards are endowed with prize money of 6,000 euros and additional sponsorship; the deadline is 28 June 2010.

Since 1995, the ESEC has honoured outstanding media productions with the Erasmus EuroMedia Awards. The prizes are granted to high-quality educational media products (documentaries, DVDs, websites, TV series, magazines, etc.) that contribute to the discussion on the development of European society and European values.

Besides promoting excellence, the EuroMedia Awards are a meeting point for international media professionals. A presentation of the winners and a festive evening reception provide the ideal ambiences to socialise and exchange ideas.

The award-winning media productions are carefully picked by an international jury of prominent experts in the field of media. ESEC experts will weigh the following factors in their decisions:

  • The level of discussion of European topics;
  • The depth of analysis and critical assessment/reassessment;
  • The quality of realization in terms of design, aesthetics, and media language;
  • The value for use in educational contexts;
  • The value for public communication.
