Opening Education

Join the EFQUEL Innovation Forum

Lisbon (PT), June 2010 - This year's EFQUEL Innovation Forum, the fourth in the series of European gatherings, will take place in Lisbon in collaboration with the Catholic University of Portugal and the National Institute for Public Administration of Portugal. The dates are 08-10 September.

The EFQUEL Innovation Forum is different from traditional conferences: It combines the strengths of interactive workshops with inspiring keynotes, offering an event in which delegates produce the future agenda for quality development following the path of innovation, inclusion, and excellence.

Supported by the European Commission and in line with the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, the delegates will seek answers to the question "How can openness foster quality education through innovation, inclusion, and excellence?"

The program was designed by a program committee gathering leading visionaries and experts - among them Carl Holmberg, Secretary General of the ICDE. Keynotes will be given, amongst others, by Gráinne Conole, professor for eLearning at the Open University (UK) and Susan D'Antoni, a strong supporter of the OER movement from Athabasca University (Canada).

The venue - the Palace of the Marquises of Pombal - is in Oeiras, Portugal, located about fifteen kilometers outside of Lisbon, halfway between the capital and the cosmopolitan Estoril/Cascais area. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens, which will play an essential role during the Conference.

Delegates who register before the 30 June 2010 profit from the early-bird fee of 300 euros for EFQUEL Member organisations.
