ECTEL 2010: Conference Planner Now Online

Barcelona (ES), September 2010 - The fifth European Conference of Technology Enhanced Learning (ECTEL) 2010 is being held in Barcelona from 28 September - 1 October, with an online conference planner now online. The forum combines technological developments, learning models, and implementations of new and innovative approaches to training and education.

With the conference planner, participants can explore talks, posters, demos, and workshops to be presented at EC-TEL 2010, find the papers that are most interesting, add them to their schedule, and export the schedule into their personal organizer. While scheduling a paper, users can also tag it and recommend it to most relevant communities of interest. The conference planner uses this information to recommend further papers that match the initial interest.

The Conference explores how the synergy of multiple disciplines, ranging from computer science, education, psychology, cognitive science, and social science, can provide new, more effective, and especially more sustainable technology-enhanced learning solutions to learning problems. It welcomes researchers and developers from European and non-European countries and industries to present recent advancements from technologies, applications, and learning models in all areas of technology-enhanced learning.

Keynote speakers are:

  • Prof. Judy Kay, Director of CHAI - Computer Human Adapted Interaction Research Group, University of Sydney will present a visionary talk on "Personalisation, HCI, and Learning"
  • Dr. José Ángel Martínez Usero, Director of International Projects, Technosite-Fundación ONCE, will deliver a keynote address on "Research Trends in Accessible eLearning: Interoperability of Solutions, Ubiquity of Resources, and Personalization of Services"
  • Pat Manson and Marco Marsella from the European Commission Unit "Cultural Heritage and Technology Enhanced Learning" will give a closing keynote on "The Future Funding of TEL from the EC Point of View".
