Piers Lea to Speak on Behalf of ELIG in Birmingham

London (UK), September 2010 - Piers Lea, CEO of LINE Communications, a provider of learning and communications, is to speak on behalf ELIG, the European Learning Industry Group, at the World of Learning Exhibition and Conference. The event takes place 28- 29 September 2010 at Birmingham's NEC.

Piers will present a number of results-focused stories of successful blended-learning implementations from ELIG members on Tuesday, 28 September from 15:30 - 16:00 titled -œResults, Results, Results! Blended Learning Successes from across Europe-.

The European learning industry is constantly innovating - especially in its use of technology, but do we really have the ear of top management and senior policy makers?

Representing ELIG, Piers will give the latest update on industry successes drawn from a wide range of European companies including Ford of Europe, Inter IKEA Systems, and British Airways. The talk will be presented in -˜business case' terms that would excite any leadership team.

The seminar will help attendees to

  • make the case for change in their own organisation via results from others facing similar issues
  • understand why business cases are so important
  • realise that measuring results is not impossible.

Piers Lea, LINE's CEO comments, -œThere are still too many business leaders and policy-makers in Europe who have practically no knowledge of the role that technology can play in learning, and yet we know that its adoption is critical to our competitive future. As an industry, we need to engage our leaders better. To do this we need to tell compelling stories. The questions are -˜do we have them' and -˜can we tell them'?-

LINE is an active member of ELIG, and this theme is aligned with their agenda of using new knowledge and learning technologies to boost the renewal of European economies as they emerge from recession.

The seminar is free to attend and will take place in the main exhibition hall.

Registration is now open for the World of Learning Conference and Exhibition.
