Computer-based Testing

Annual Increase of 33% in Africa

London (UK), February 2011 - Pearson VUE, provider of computer-based testing, has reported an increase of 33% in the number of exams delivered via its extensive network of test centres across Africa in 2010. The Pearson plc business also grew its test centre network across the Continent last year by twenty percent and increased its catalogue of exams by nineteen percent from 2009.

With centres located in many major African cities and regions, each having a growing appreciation for computer-based testing, Pearson VUE continues to provide candidates with a comprehensive e-assessment service. Each centre is highly secure and features sophisticated technology, while staff are on hand to ensure an invigilated assessment environment.

Pearson VUE's ability to deliver assessment in Arabic, English, and French enables thousands of candidates to benefit from accessible testing every year. The solutions provided by Pearson VUE allow candidates to enter industries, businesses to ascertain the skills possessed by their staff, and educational establishments to understand the competencies of applicants.

In 2010, Pearson VUE delivered over seven million tests worldwide.

Suzana Lopes, Pearson VUE, VP EMEA Sales and Marketing, comments, "Our continued progress in Africa, coupled with our ability to utilise resources from fellow Pearson businesses, has allowed us to help many skilled and qualified professionals to enter marketplaces. We look forward to assisting more individuals and adding to our network of centres on a continent that has become increasingly aware of the value of computer-based testing."
