Photo Competition 2011 Attracts Significant Interest

Berlin (GER)/Dar es Salaam (TZ), April 2011 - The second eLearning Africa Photo Competition has been met with a fantastic response. Dozens of photo enthusiasts from across Africa have submitted inspiring pictures since this year's contest opened last month. The closing date for all submissions is 21 April 2011. Participation in the contest is free.

"Capture this! How ICTs are empowering people across Africa" is the theme for 2011. Photographers are asked to enter their best images to show how Information and Communication Technologies have made a real difference to the way people live, learn, and work in Africa. Contributions from all walks of life and all sectors are welcome - be it health, agriculture, business, community life or education. All entries will be judged by a specially selected expert panel. The winners will be announced on the eLearning Africa website.

Prizes include a high-quality digital camera, an energy-efficient netbook, and a camcorder. The top ten photos will be featured in the exhibition at the eLearning Africa 2011 conference. They will also be included in a colour exhibit booklet. Selected images will be showcased on the eLearning Africa website.

eLearning Africa is the largest pan-African conference on Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for Development, Education and Training. This year's edition takes place 25-27 May in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
