New Book Launched and Volunteers Wanted
Ardmore, PA (USA), April 2011 - eLearning for Kids, a global non-profit foundation offering free courseware, has launched a new book entitled "Next Learning, Unwrapped" by Nick van Dam, (Ph.D.). The organization is also setting off on a new project that will offer a complete K-6 Math curriculum.
eLearning for Kids is celebrating the launch of "Next Learning, Unwrapped", which is available both in paperback form (392 pp.) and as a .pdf file for download. All proceeds from the sale of the publication will benefit the Foundation.
In the work, Nick van Dam presents new technology-driven learning concepts in the context of nearly forty business cases from leading organizations that use technology-based learning to achieve business goals. Business and learning leaders can use these success stories and lessons learned as blueprints to embed technology-based learning deeper into the culture of their organizations.
"Technology has created a fantastic opportunity to provide people around the world with 'any time, any place' access to knowledge and learning that can help them to be more successful professionally", says van Dam, Director and a Chief Learning Officer in Global Talent for DTTL. "Essentially, this book -˜unwraps' the concept of technology-based learning and shows organizations how they can benefit from it".
eLearning for Kids has a further goal for the year 2011: developing 150 e-lessons. To achieve this, the Foundation is currently looking for skilled Instructional Designers who can volunteer forty hours spread over a three-month period. Each volunteer would be responsible for the development of two or more storyboards.
If you wish to contribute to this important effort, please send an email to jderies@eLearningforkids.org. You will be sent a Storyboard Template (with manual) and a Subject Matter Expertise Package (with math examples) to begin.
