STIEBEL ELTRON Using LMS from M.I.T e-Solutions
Friedrichsdorf (GER), December 2014 - Building-technology provider STIEBEL ELTRON, which offers, in its own words, "Feel-Good Technology", is changing: The traditional hot water and heating manufacturer is positioning itself as a system provider in the areas of renewable energy, hot water, space heating, and air conditioning. A new orientation such as this requires new competences for the sales staff, and because "Feel-Good Technology" has become more complex, digital, and networked, it also demands a higher level of consultancy skills.
M.I.T has been supporting STIEBEL ELTRON since 2010 with its learning-management system SITOS, and its wide range of qualification demands have been realised with eLearning and learning management. The Holzmindener company has produced its own learning programmes with the help of the SITOS authoring module. Now the company has received a Competence Driving License module created by M.I.T specifically for STIEBEL ELTRON, which will systematically prepare the building-technology provider’s employees for the demands of the new market.
The new module supports employees in the implementation of their individual "Driving- School-Instruction Plan". The method chosen by STIEBEL ELTRON is the blended-learning principle. This is a combination of in-class and virtual learning phases using a variety of the instruction methods such as, for example, practice units in the classroom, independent online learning, as well as discussions of results in a virtual classroom.
Through SITOS, employees complete their individual STIEBEL ELTRON learning paths on topics such as Technologies and Standards, Products and Solutions, and Sales and Communication. Their learning progress towards the Competence Driving License is simultaneously documented in SITOS. Albert Elberfeld, Director of Company Training at STIEBEL ELTRON, commented, "As a result of the professional support provided by M.I.T, it was easy to implement our ideas and integrate the new module “Competence Driving License” into the existing SITOS system with all of its functions."
