Merger of Learning Specialists
Rostock/Bremen (GER), July 2015 - Germany's benntec Systemtechnik GmbH and MarineSoft GmbH, successful suppliers in the market for innovative learning and training solutions as well as software and system development, are joining forces in a merger that brings together the energy and expertise of two longstanding companies. The merger of MarineSoft GmbH of Rostock and benntec Systemtechnik GmbH of Bremen has now officially been recorded in the Commercial Register.
The newly merged company will continue to trade under the name benntec Systemtechnik GmbH and remain headquartered in Bremen. Majority shareholder of the now-expanded benntec company continues to be Geradts GmbH, which holds a 51% stake.
"This merger creates a stronger company that will do an even better job of serving the market", declares Joachim Ratte, Managing Director of bennetec Systemtechnik GmbH. "It demonstrates our commitment to growth and expansion and lets us leverage valuable synergies that will benefit our customers and partners. As an efficient supplier of advanced learning and training technology, as well as software and system-development solutions, the new setup expands our technical and professional expertise in a mutually reinforcing way. In short, we'll be able to respond even better to our customers' needs", notes Ratte.
"First and foremost, the point of this merger is to systematically develop our company's potential for innovation, which will ensure that we can go on supporting our customers' instruction and training needs with advanced, high-performance, high-quality interactive solutions for years to come", he adds.
The MarineSoft brand remains, as will the Rostock-Warnemünde location, now the company's centre of excellence for maritime eLearning and training technology, as well as software and system development. Commenting on the merger, Dr Volker Köhler, previously Managing Director of MarineSoft GmbH and now "Prokurist" of bennetec's new MarineSoft unit, notes that, "the tried-and-tested Rostock-Warnemünde site will see a concentration of activities aimed at customers in the maritime markets as well as the energy and process sectors."
Post-merger, the company continues to employ over 130 people.
