Learning Portal "VR-Bildung" for 185,000 Users
Friedrichsdorf (GER), January 2016 - The 1,047 cooperatively organised German Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken have implemented a common online-learning portal with VR-Bildung. Since 2008, the learning-management system SITOS from M.I.T has been the technical basis for VR-Bildung, which together with its many network partners have made it one of the largest learning portals in Europe.
With VR-Bildung 3.0, a technically and conceptually thoroughly revised version has been put into regular operation with approximately 5,000 learning programs for nearly 185,000 registered active users.
The aim of the revision was the modernisation of the learning platform. In particular, focus was placed on increasing user convenience and the expansion of the choices of teaching methods and learning media for precisely targeted trainings and courses of study. Goals included stronger support for self-directed and collaborative learning and a high variety of digital and analogue learning courses on the online-learning portal. These are intended to provide the employees of the network partners a high degree of practice-relevant and transfer-orientated continuing education and training in the areas of banking, finance, and credit.
To achieve these goals, SITOS SIX, the current version of the M.I.T learning-management system was implemented. With the new activities concept from SITOS SIX, companies and training providers can outfit courses with learning journals, videos, forums, wikis, webinars, seminars, workshops, coaching, e-testing, and learning programs.
In this way, training measures can be carried out that allow classroom and digital-learning courses to be combined precisely for the respective target groups in order to achieve the greatest level of learning success. The modular LMS also provides additional open interfaces with which providers can also integrate their own tools and software into SITOS SIX.
Companies with completely different business models offer eLearning modules with VR-Bildung for a very wide variety of target groups: Whereas network companies such as the Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall, the R + V Versicherungen, and Union Investment use the platform primarily for trainings on new financial products, the regional academies use it for the basic and expert continuing training of the bank employees. Furthermore, the Academy of German Cooperatives (ADG) uses the platform for the continuing education and training of management personnel, as well as for international online trainings.
In 2015 the portal was awarded the TOP HR-Software Seal of Approval in the category eLearning.
