| Revitalization | PRINT | | Regional Online-Training for Small Business Owners |
Longmont, CO (USA), August 2008 - Destination University, the online training library created exclusively for small business owners, will be accessible to 32 "Main Street New Jersey" downtown districts. Main Street New Jersey, through a grant to the Center for Non-Profits, will bring the Destination University training offerings to all downtown business owners located in their program's Main Street communities.
The Destination University courses were created by Jon Schallert, a speaker and small business consultant who teaches businesses how to turn themselves into "Consumer Destinations." The online trainings will consist of two monthly Internet-based workshops over a period of six months. The goal of the Destination University trainings is to teach owners how to increase sales, customer traffic, and become consumer destination businesses.
According to Schallert, "Online, rich media workshops like these are typically reserved for corporations with huge information technology budgets. Owners can view these online webinars 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at their convenience, without having to incur the costs of travel or time away from their businesses."
Jon Schallert is the President of The Schallert Group, Inc., Longmont, Colorado. Schallert speaks to thousands annually on his "Destination Business" principles, developed over twenty years of working with businesses, including ten years with greeting card giant Hallmark Cards.
Main Street New Jersey, a program of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, is a comprehensive revitalization program that promotes the historic and economic redevelopment of traditional business districts. The program was established in 1989 to support the revitalization of downtowns throughout the state.
