digital publishing Wins Gold in UK eLearning Award 2008
Munich (GER)/London (UK), December 2008 - digital publishing (dp), a provider of language-training software solutions, has been honoured with a gold award in the prestigious UK eLearning Awards for "Most Innovative New Product or Tool in eLearning".
The submission was based on a case study highlighting the use of the dp's blended-learning language training at leading automotive supplier MAHLE in Shanghai, China. In making the award, the jury composed of members of the UK eLearning Network ELN, under the chairmanship of Joe Quilter, emphasized that the award specifically recognized the innovative technology and pedagogical value of the dp language-training solutions.
The official presentation of the eLearning Awards to the winners took place in front of the who's who of the UK eLearning industry gathered at the Park Lane Hotel in London to learn who would take home the prizes. "As a leader in languageLearning software technology, we're honoured and thrilled to have received the eLearning Award for the most innovative product and the industry endorsement that comes with it", said Armin Hopp, CEO of dp.
In presenting the award, BBC presenter Angela Lamont said: "This entry was a truly impressive example of how technology can be harnessed to improve the learning experience by putting the learner in control of learning a language. Using technology such as voice recognition and focusing on some of the more difficult elements of learning a language such as tone, the programme clearly illustrated how learners can overcome these difficulties and speak a foreign language competently."
"This entry also demonstrated clear support mechanisms alongside management tracking together with clear, quantifiable outcome results."
The eLearning Award program is unique in that it is judged by members of the eLearning industry and the UK eLearning Network ELN. The finalists included entries from all over Europe and produced a record twenty winners, with a further six organizations receiving commendations and special mentions.
