BTL SecureClient Passes Independent Testing
Shipley (UK), February 2010 - BTL Group Ltd, a UK-based provider of eAssessment solutions has announced that their SecureClient software has passed rigorous independent testing. The test performed was the Microsoft Platform Test for ISV Solutions on VeriTest®.

The SecureClient is a program that 'locks down' the candidate’s desktop when sitting an eAssessment. This prevents the candidate from accessing any applications or features other than those provided for the eAssessment. Certain keystrokes are also blocked for security reasons such as print screen, Alt + F4, Alt + Tab, the Windows key, etc.

Additional security and resilience measures are also incorporated into the SecureClient to ensure there is no single point of failure when delivering high-stakes assessments however rich and innovative the content may be. BTL rigorously tests every part of its Surpass eAssessment platform before final release to their customers.

As Microsoft partners, BTL has specifically had the SecureClient application tested by a Microsoft-certified independent testing partner (Lionbridge). This test is required in order to maintain BTL’s status of being a Microsoft Certified Independent Software Vendor.

Andy McAnulla, Senior Solutions Architect, explains, "The SecureClient is installed across thousands of exam-centre computers and so it is critical for us to ensure that we employ independent Microsoft testing as part of our quality-assurance process."
