Learning Nexus Develops eLearning Solution

London/Stroud (UK), May 2011 - Tendeka is a provider of completion and reservoir-monitoring products and services to the upstream oil and gas industry. The firm operates across a network of eighteen regional bases strategically located in key energy hubs including the North Sea, Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and the USA.

As a member of the Shell Technology Venture scheme, Tendeka was required to demonstrate a "provable" training scheme that met three key aims:

  1. Accessibility - Tendeka employs approximately 75 people across six locations throughout the world. A flexible solution that was accessible to all was essential, and consistency of message was a key factor in the company choosing eLearning. The project went live on 01 March 20011 and in just three weeks registered an impressive 53 users, 152 courses, and 153 hours of learning. Now, after two months, they have 109 users, 371 completed courses, and over 377 hours of learning.
  2. Competency - as an STV company, Tendeka has to provide training that matches the competencies laid down by its board of directors. Significant time was spent mapping content to target five key courses to these requirements. The impressive use mentioned above is only from four courses. The rest will be delivered as and when required.
  3. Consistency and scalability - as a new company, Tendeka was looking for a way to provide bite-size learning on different products and tools to all its staff, for whom the most important aspect was the Course Builder tool. Work is underway on developing learning content to support the rollout of the SalesForce CRM system across the globe, and plans are in place to widen access to this across the business.

Members of the Learning Nexus and Tendeka work together to provide a learning package that meets Tendeka's needs, now and in the future.
