ICDE Prizes for Innovation and Best Practice Awarded
Tianjin (CN), October 2013 - These ICDE prizes, which aim to stimulate innovation and best practice in open, distance, flexible, online, and eLearning, were awarded in Tianjin. Nine papers were selected by the Editorial Board of Open Praxis on the themes of open educational resources and intercultural aspects, learning analytics, mobile learning, impact, teaching quality, and leadership.
Nine prizes of USD 2,000 were awarded
The ICDE KNOU prize for a paper on the theme of mobile learning
"Build Optional Digital Textbooks for Distance Learners" by Du Ruo and Yang Xiaotang, The Open University of China
The prize for a paper on the theme of leadership
"Promoting Sustainable Living in the Borderless World through Blended Learning Platforms" by Khar Thoe Ng, Suma Parahakaran, Rhea Febro, Egbert Weisheit and Tan Luck Lee, SEAMEO Regional Centre for Education in Science and Mathematics, Malaysia
The prize for a paper on the theme of learning analytics
"Open and Distance Education Systems: Do They Enhance Graduates’ Soft Skills?" (The results from a 2009 Universitas Terbuka Tracer Study) by Dewi Juliah Ratnaningsih, Universitas Terbuka, Indonesia
