Kineo Launches New Trauma-Informed Care Awareness Course
London (UK), August 2025 - In a world where many individuals carry the invisible wounds of past traumatic experiences, this course aims to fundamentally shift the perspective of care from "What’s wrong with you?" to "What’s happened to you?". This change in approach is at the heart of trauma-informed care, a methodology that is rapidly becoming a high priority across the health and social care sectors.
The Kineo course, developed in collaboration with subject matter expert Romy Blacklaw, is designed for a wide audience, including clinical and non-clinical staff in healthcare, aged care, and disability services. It acknowledges the unique challenges faced in both the UK and Australia, from intergenerational trauma and the legacy of the Stolen Generations in Australia to the impacts of childhood trauma and social disadvantage in the UK.
The training will empower learners to:
- Understand the profound effects of trauma on the brain and behaviour.
- Identify the principles of trauma-informed care to prevent re-traumatisation.
- Apply communication techniques that foster trust and collaboration.
- Create safe and supportive environments that promote healing.
The course is available through Kineo’s own cloud-based LMS, Learnforce, or can be integrated into a client’s preferred learning management system.
