Elluminate Announces Continued Momentum in the UK
Fort Lauderdale, FL (USA), September 2007 - Elluminate, Inc., a provider of live eLearning and web-collaboration solutions for the real-time organization, announced its continued market momentum in the United Kingdom. At the University of London, Elluminate Live! is used in a consortial setting by four renowned specialist colleges: the Institute of Education, Royal Veterinary College, the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and the School of Pharmacy.
In addition, the London Knowledge Lab bases its research on pedagogical models for live conferencing on Elluminate Live! Other recently acquired UK-based customers include Napier University in Edinburgh and the University of Hertfordshire.
"We see Elluminate Live! as a versatile tool for a range of application scenarios, from recorded assignment feedback via flexible group workshops to mass multi-campus events", said Tim Neumann of the London Knowledge Lab. "Elluminate can adapt to a multitude of settings and yet retain high usability."
"We ran some online tutorials via Elluminate Live! for students studying Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics, a first-year course in our Bachelor of Engineering Degree programme", said Peter Bullen of the University of Hertfordshire. "We recorded the sessions and made them available to the students from the course web page on our Managed Learning Environment, StudyNet."
Elluminate Live! was also used at the JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee) 2007 online conference and by its Emerge Project to support collaboration activities. "The experience of using the Elluminate audiographic environment with simultaneous video, text, audio, and graphic display for distributed collaboration and co-presence was, even for this old jade, an exciting new learning experience similar to the excitement I felt using Blackboard and multi-threaded text chat for the first time", said Emerge Project Director George Roberts of Oxford Brookes University.
Elluminate has entered into a preferred partnership with the Association for Learning Technology and was a major sponsor at the ALT-Conference 2007. Elluminate Live! was used to simulcast the keynote speaker presentations at the conference.
"Over the past few years, Elluminate has proven time and again its ability to focus on delivering live eLearning solutions that meet the growing needs of academia and increase our customer base", said William Florance, Elluminate's Director, International Sales and Marketing. "This most recent expansion of the company in the UK underscores the strength and growth of Elluminate internationally."
