Belgium Market

Crossknowledge Celebrates Opening of New Office

Puteaux (F), November 2007 - After its recent step into the British market, CrossKnowledge, a European expert in web-based management training, continues its European expansion by opening an office in Brussels, Belgium. This marks a new stage in the company's international development, continuing the success it has already had in its home country of France, as well as in Canada, China, Japan, and Spain.

Belgium is a market with complex specificities. With more than ten million inhabitants and strong tradition in training, Belgium represents an important potential for CrossKnowledge. The lack of distance learning courses for management training was the main reason to step into this market. CrossKnowledge wishes to add value to companies' training needs in a mature market for face-to-face training. The opening follows a two-year period of work and research.

In order to meet the specific needs of the Dutch-speaking community, which represent sixty percent of the population, CrossKnowledge translated its catalogue into Dutch, thus becoming the only provider for distance training in this language.

Stephan Atsou was appointed as head of the Belgium office. By the end of the year, he will supervise a team of four people, a number that CrossKnowledge hopes to double every six months. Active member of the group Epsilon, a Belgium association of French speaking training professionals, Stephan Atsou occupied various functions within U&I Learning, a company specialized in the integration of eLearning modules. Until recently he was responsible for the innovation committee.
