Sloan-C International Conference on Online Learning
Orlando, FL (USA), October 2008 - The fourteenth annual conference on Online Learning held by the Sloan-C Consortium is taking place in Orlando, Florida from 5-7 November, 2008. It brings together practitioners and researchers, administrators, instructional designers, faculty developers, library and support people, instructors, and students to try to make sense of the fast-growing and rapidly changing field of online and blended learning.
Online and blended learning transform education and training from location-restricted and time-bound activities to anytime, anywhere experiences that challenge boundaries between the academy and the world, between the virtual and the real. Online and blended learning connect learners around the globe with each other, with instructors and experts worldwide, and with an enormous range of resources to support learning that is both highly individualized and highly collaborative.
For thirteen years, the Sloan-C International Conference on Online Learning has been the lead conference in online and blended learning, continuously improving and responding to emerging trends.
It is geared to both experienced professionals and interested newcomers who hail from a variety of work sectors, including higher education, K-12 education, continuing education, business, government, health care, professional associations, and nonprofit organizations.
Participants will share the latest information on research findings, current practice, emerging trends, and promising new technologies and have the opportunity to explore what online and blended learning portends for us, for institutions, and for society as a whole.
