The Guardian Shares the Secret of eLearning
Brighton (UK), February 2011 - More and more organisations are turning to eLearning and seeing the benefits, according to a recent article in The Guardian. The piece highlights how businesses are making the most of eLearning, including Cable & Wireless, one of Kineo's longstanding clients.
The recent Guardian article - entitled -œThe Secret of eLearning- - highlights the benefits eLearning can bring to organisations, especially in an economic downturn. It also shares some useful insights from influential commentators on making eLearning happen, including Kineo client Mike Booth of Cable & Wireless.
Mike points out that eLearning needs time and freedom to be effective. "We provide time for colleagues to develop themselves-, Mike explains in the article. "We map out an online career path so they can see what roles they might aspire to and what skills and attributes they'll need; then we point them to suitable training. It takes a third of the time of a classroom-based course to do it online, and the information is always on hand as a point of reference."
Elsewhere in the article, Jane Hart of the Centre for Learning and Performance Technologies points out that the most effective solutions go beyond formal courses and include informal methods.
Kineo director Stephen Walsh comments, "The Guardian has it right - both in highlighting the benefits of eLearning from a cost-and-efficiency perspective and the importance of designing it right and ensuring a great learner experience comes first. We've created fresh and award-winning eLearning for clients including Cable & Wireless, M&S, and Canon among many others - they're proof that eLearning can make an impact and make a difference."
