Donald H. Taylor Appointed Non-Executive Director of Filtered
London (UK), January 2018 - Just a few weeks after receiving US patent approval for its filtering algorithm, Filtered, a pioneer of personalized learning, has announced the appointment of L&D expert Donald H. Taylor as non-executive director of the company.
Filtered, the award-winning Shoreditch-based firm that personalizes learning experiences for today's knowledge workers, has appointed Donald H. Taylor as a non-executive director. This is the latest appointment for Filtered over a twelve-month period that has seen the company nearly double staff numbers, secure investment from the City & Guilds Group and Innovate UK, increase user base to almost a million learners, and launch a brand new learning recommendation system used by 1,500+ HR and L&D directors.
Donald H. Taylor is a global leader in the learning, skills, and human capital industries, with experience at every level from delivery to board chairman. A recognised commentator and organiser in the fields of workplace learning and learning technologies, Don is passionately committed to helping develop the learning and development profession.
Chairman of the Learning Technologies Conference since 2000; of the Learning and Skills Group since 2006; and of the Learning and Performance Institute since 2010, Don's background ranges from training delivery to managing director and vice-president positions in software companies. He has lived and travelled extensively outside the UK and now travels internationally on a regular basis to consult and speak about workplace learning.
Marc Zao-Sanders, CEO of Filtered, commented on the news by saying, "Appointing Donald H. Taylor as NED of Filtered is a game changer. Don understands the industry like few other professionals and has a genuine passion for the direction we're headed in: intelligent learning recommendations. Don shares our interest in using AI to get the right learning to the right learner to boost individual performance and collective productivity. We're excited that Don's joining our board and look forward to working closely together."
Donald H. Taylor said of the new role, "At a time when artificial intelligence and algorithms are commonly used as marketing glitz for run-of-the-mill products, Filtered makes substantive progress and uses technology practically and pragmatically to make a real difference. The fact that the US Patent Office recently accepted their patent application to protect the filtering algorithm speaks volumes. Filtered represents the future, actually the present, of AI in learning. More importantly, they're a smart, driven, friendly team with a great culture. I very much look forward to helping them expand in the years ahead."
