eCourseWare Platform to Revolutionise IT Training Market

Berkshire (UK), November 2014 - Business-training courses are becoming more intense as organisations try to extract the maximum value for employees in the shortest possible time. Courses that might at one time have lasted five days are being brought down to three. Three-day courses are being reduced to just two.

At the same time, there is an expectation among many students today that the training materials for the course are readily accessible and simple and intuitive to use.  A student attending a course starting at 9 a.m. on Monday morning, for example, may have had eCourseware sent to them in advance, but they will typically not have looked at it until they arrive at the course at 8.55 and open it up five minutes later. The same applies for virtual courses. Typically, the student will log on shortly before the session begins.

That’s why the look and feel of an electronic courseware delivery system and the ease of use of the interface are so important. If the student can’t sit down and start using the materials straightaway, the trainer will be bombarded with questions, the course delivery will be delayed, and inevitably some of the course content will not be delivered.

Of particular importance to virtual or VILT courses is the need for courseware to be easily referenced alongside other electronic activities – on screen real estate becomes very valuable when participating in a virtual course.

And once into the course, students expect and demand that materials can be accessed and edited on other devices. Being able to annotate courseware on an iPad for, example, is something that many students take for granted in their personal experience - and expect to see in their professional life as well. KnowledgePoint’s recently launched MyLiveBook seeks to meet these expectations.

According to KnowledgePoint’s Andre Philpot, "with an eCourseware platform like MyLiveBook, there is no delay, and materials can be available in real-time."
