UK Employers Satisfied with Employee Training

Macclesfield (UK), February 2010 - QDP Services has revealed employer satisfaction figures based on opinions of 5,469 employers from 56 education and training providers nationwide. The results show that most employers are very happy with the training services available to them and their employees.

According to the survey data collected in the last academic year, 91% of employers surveyed were satisfied with the service they had received from their training provider, and 92% agreed that the training met the needs of their employee. A total of 93% of respondents found that the training objectives and content were relevant to the business. A further 93% found that their chosen providers offered good learning opportunities and were value for money.

Some 92% found it was easy to contact their provider. Furthermore, 91% found communications from staff helpful and supportive, and they also felt that the provider understood their business and training needs and responded quickly and flexibly.

For training providers wanting to improve their services to business clients, it is clearly feedback and communication that make the difference. QDP surveys found that up to 21% of employers feel that they do not receive sufficient information from providers on the progress their employees make as a result of training.

This is the first time QDP is publishing this type of data. Rick Phillips, QDP's Managing Director, comments, "With employer engagement and the state of the UK's skills market making front page news, we felt we should share this data with the sector and the wider public. The 5,500 employers included in this survey are not the full picture. Nevertheless, it is very encouraging to see such high levels of satisfaction."
