Protection for eLearning
Ayr (UK), July 2006 - ELearning is as exposed to piracy issues as any other digital content sector. Scotland-based LockLizard Limited has developed a Digital Rights Management (DRM) enforcement product specifically focused on protecting an eLearning company's revenue streams.
LockLizard Protector prevents unauthorized users from accessing course content and controls what authorized users can do with it (copy, share, or print., for example) and for how long. It delivers DRM technology to the elearning marketplace with US Government strength encryption to protect course content.
With the product, eLearning publishers have a simple way to control who views their content, where, when, and for how long. Protector's instant revocation and expiry controls ensure the latest version of course materials is always used and customers continue paying for content. Protector's printing controls can limit the number of prints that can be made.
Protector controls a wide range of file types - HTML, HTM, JPG, GIF, TIF, PNG, TXT, CSV, SWF (Flash). It even has built-in PDF-to-HTML and DOC-to-HTML converters. AVI, MPG, WAV and MP3 files can be converted simply to Flash to get the benefits of full protection for multimedia.
LockLizard Protector entry-level pricing is $ 3,495 for a subscription license, with perpetual licenses and licenses for the firm's own server also available.
