WEBACAD Manages EU Project with OutStart's Software
Eschborn (GER), July 2009 - WEBACAD, an eLearning content development company, has chosen the OutStart learning content management system (LCMS) to develop, manage, maintain, and deliver eLearning content for an online training initiative known in Europe as the Certified European ELearning Manager (CELM) program.
Through the CELM program, a project funded by the EU's Leonardo da Vinci Program, eLearning experts from Denmark, Germany, Greece, Liechtenstein, Romania, and Switzerland have collaborated to establish a benchmark for certifying the competency of European eLearning managers. With OutStart LCMS, WEBACAD will produce the CELM program's eLearning modules.
WEBACAD selected OutStart LCMS because it was essential that professionals who take part in the certification program be able to access and edit content over the web at any time. WEBACAD also felt the system underpinning the CELM program had to provide a broad range of interactive learning methods, as well as support advanced assessment techniques.
Another decisive factor leading WEBACAD to select OutStart LCMS was the software's ability to translate online training materials for the CELM program and make the training relevant for each participating country's unique business environment.
"OutStart LCMS was one of the few solutions on the market that met the complex set of requirements posed by our EU project", said Sünne Eichler, ex-managing director of WEBACAD. "It was of prime importance to us that our international partners in the project be capable of adapting and localizing the CELM content modules in line with their country-specific requirements in the future."
"Whenever content authors, developers, and reviewers are distributed across multiple geographic locations, use of an LCMS is the only realistic option for localizing and managing content in myriad and critical ways", said Matthias Schulz, vice president of European Sales for OutStart.
