Online Conference on Narrative Learning Environments
Genoa (IT), September 2007 - In Narrative Learning Environments (NLEs), students engage in technology-mediated activities where stories and narrations play a central role to support learning. From 27 September until 2 October 2007, the first online working conference on NLE will take place. This event is organized by the NLE Special Interest Groups of the European network of excellence, Kaleidoscope.
This conference will focus how to use narrative in technology-enhanced learning environments so as to exploit its educational potential. It aims to provide an arena to contribute to the development of this emergent research field, establish and strengthen links and relationships among people interested in NLEs, and explore inexpensive ways to promote interaction and collaboration.
In order to fit best into the participants' varying schedules, the conference will be completely asynchronous and extend over more days than similar events. The daily time requirement is low and can be split into many short slots over the conference duration.
The call for proposals is open until 15 September 2007. Participants may contribute by submitting a discussion starter. This is a stimulating, or even provocative, short paper designed to arouse a lively discussion on open problems and controversial aspects of the topic to be discussed.
