Student Mobility

Specialist Conference in Conjunction with StudyWorld 2007

Berlin (GER), February 2007 - "go out! studieren weltweit" is the title of a conference for experts on the international mobility of German students that is being held in Berlin on May 10, 2007, organised by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The event is taking place in conjunction with StudyWorld 2007, the second annual international fair on higher and continuing education that takes place on May 11 - 12, 2007 in Berlin's Russian House of Science and Culture.

The programme will include the presentation of the results of a survey on the international mobility of German students, commissioned by DAAD and carried out by the German firm Hochschul-Informations-System GmbH (HIS). Also, university experts will discuss the issue of how German universities can optimally integrate a period of study abroad into the new six-semester BA and two-year MA programmes. In addition, podium discussions and debates on further aspects of international study are planned, and successful projects that have been implemented will be introduced.

Thus, the conference is directly linked to the themes of StudyWorld 2007, the event is designed for representatives of German university administrations, faculties, institutes, and study-abroad and public affairs offices. It is also certain to be of interest to StudyWorld 2007 exhibitors, as well as to international visitors, including staff members of embassies, consulates, and cultural institutes. The conference language is German.

The impulses and ideas that constitute the conference core have been chosen in an effort to motivate universities to support student mobility with sound concepts and to promote the internationalisation of German universities.
