Third Serious Games Sessions Europe
Lyon (F), November 2007 - Lyon Game, a trade and business organization in the digital and video games sector, is organizing the Serious Games Sessions Europe on 3 December 2007 in connection with the Game Connection and the Lyon Game Developers Conference. Following this event will be the launch of the first videogame university "Gamagora".
The conference will offer the opportunity to get a close-up view of the serious gaming market, as well as traditional videogame developments. Over the past five years, the term serious games has been barely understood by videogames studios and traditional sectors, as serious games sets its sights on two seemingly incompatible universes.
However paradoxical this association appears, the Serious Games Sessions Europe has been proving how efficient hybridization can be. Imagination from the videogame industry can be transformed into reality to become a major economic stake.
This international business event underscores the wide range of products that have sprung from videogame technologies to optimize training activities in the classical sectors mentioned above. Game development studios working on serious games applications have now found a growth engine as well, since the market is expanding. US analysts forecast a turnover of €10 million in 2008 on their own market for eLearning alone, while international sales are expected to triple from now to next year when sales will exceed €100 million compared to €40 million today.
