How We Will Work, Live and Learn in the Future
London (UK), May 2014 - The Learning and Skills Group Conference, on June 17 at Olympia 2 in London, will open with a keynote address from David Price OBE on the transformation taking place in how we learn, followed by a further twelve presentations on important subjects in organisational learning.
The Learning and Skills Group Conference is an annual follow up to January’s Learning Technologies, exploring the themes discussed there in more detail, with the emphasis on learning in practice and interactivity. The gathering will examine industry trends, practical strategies, and the technologies that are driving organisational learning.
The Conference will open with a keynote by David Price OBE about how learning has become more open and, driven by technology, is becoming a shared, social experience.
Looking ahead to the debate, host Donald Taylor points out, "A collection of hacktivists, hobbyists, and maverick leaders are leading a quiet but unstoppable revolution. They are sharing everything they know and turning knowledge into action in ways that were unimaginable even a decade ago. Driven by technology and shaped by common values, going ‘open’ has transformed the way we live. Faced with an irreversible shift in our social lives, it’s not so much a question of if our work places, schools, and colleges go open, but when."
David Price’s keynote is the first in a series of presentations about organisational learning. There are a further twelve presentations covering new learning technologies, learning engagement, learning leadership, designing a corporate MOOC, collaborative learning, storytelling in learning and gaming, learning strategy, learning and the mind, mobile learning, video learning, and learning design. Speakers include Donald Clark, Laura Overton, Doug Shaw, Martin Couzens, Jane Hart, Deborah Frances-White, Kris Swanson, Mark Edwards, Nigel Paine, Terence Eden, Mark Davis, Nick Welch, and Sam Burrough.
Donald Taylor added, "The Learning and Skills Group Conference has again attracted a great line up of speakers. We’ll be covering some of the biggest issues in organisational learning today and at the same time hosting one of the best industry networking events in the calendar."
The event is free to attend for past Learning Technologies conference delegates and Learning and Skills Group members. Over 500 delegates are expected to be present.
Running alongside the Learning and Skills Group Conference will be the Learning Technologies Summer Forum, which delegates will also be able to attend as part of their LSG conference registration.
With a packed programme of more than thirty free seminars and an exhibition area showcasing 36 of the leading industry suppliers, it provides a great opportunity for visitors to see, hear, and experience the latest in workplace L&D. It is also the chance to see some of the sessions and new learning technologies they may have missed on the exhibition floor in January.
