London (UK), March 2016 - CloserStill Media, organisers of Europe's leading L&D event, Learning Technologies and the annual eLearning Awards, has announced it is to rebrand the awards programme as The Learning Technologies Awards. The goal is to broaden the Awards’ focus to cover the whole learning technology and eLearning market and bring the programme in line with its other “Learning Technologies” branded events and products.
CloserStill acquired The eLearning Awards in 2014. It is widely regarded as the premiere awards scheme within the learning industry, with over 400 awards entries last year and more than 700 guests attending the gala evening at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London, UK.
Awards organiser Mark Penton commented, "The eLearning Awards are undoubtedly one of the highlights of the year for the L&D community, and aligning the Awards with the Learning Technologies brand and market will certainly broaden its scope and appeal moving forward."
"The Learning Technologies Awards will showcase some of the most recognisable, memorable, and life-changing uses of learning technologies across the learning industry and are open to organisations of all sizes. Independently judged to the highest and most rigorous of standards, there is no greater recognition of excellence, hard work, and commitment to learning technologies than winning a Learning Technologies Award," added Penton
In addition to the The Learning Technologies Awards name, there will be a revised set of categories and a wider pool of judges drawn from across the learning-technologies sector. There will also be the formation of a Learning Technologies advisory panel to help with direction and content moving forward. The Elearning Network will continue as the judging partner for the programme, and e.learning age will remain as the official publication.
"We are developing an exciting plan for the future, with a truly integrated suite of complimentary events, media, and products for the learning community. The Awards are a great addition to the Learning Technologies stable, and we look forward to working with the current team to take the Awards on to the next level and to extend their reach and influence," concluded Penton.
