Coursera Invests $100m in Andrew Ng’s AI Learning Venture

The investment gives Coursera a one-third ownership stake in LearnVector and follows its recent combination with Udemy, extending the company’s investment in AI-powered learning.

The companies are exploring commercial collaborations that would combine LearnVector’s AI technology with Coursera’s library of accredited learning content, enterprise customer base and learner data. The first LearnVector products are expected in early 2027.

Coursera said it is using AI to personalise learning, improve learner engagement and increase the effectiveness of its platform. The company also said it believes AI will expand demand for learning rather than reduce it.

LearnVector is developing AI-powered, one-to-one learning experiences that adapt to individual learners over time.

Andrew Ng, chief executive of LearnVector and a co-founder of Coursera, said AI could shift learning from one-to-many teaching to personalised learning experiences tailored to each learner. Greg Hart, chief executive of Coursera, said LearnVector’s technology would complement AI development already underway across the Coursera platform.
