eLearning Africa 2023 in Dakar
Dakar (SEN), August 2022 - The sixteenth edition of eLearning Africa will be held 24-26 May 2023 under the patronage of H.E. Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal. The event will take place in Dakar, the country’s booming capital, at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Centre - CICAD. Four government Ministries will support the conference: Basic Education, Higher Education, Further Education and Training, and Digital Economy.
Senegal has been transformed into a regional economic powerhouse by focusing its attention on infrastructure, and the country boasts one of the highest levels of mobile access in Sub-Saharan Africa. Education and training is an objective of prime importance and is central to H.E. President Macky Sall’s political vision. In 2018, the Presidency launched the Emerging Senegal Plan, which supports steady investment to improve education and training by enhancing teachers' needs, learning facilities and infrastructures, education content, research, and innovation.
In colonial times, Dakar was the capital of French West Africa, and today it is Senegal’s political, economic, and cultural capital. The city retains a strong bond with pan-Africanism, with several museums of African cultural heritage.
The overarching theme of eLearning Africa sixteen is "New Model Learning: Innovating to Become Sustainable, Self-Reliant, Equitable, and Resilient".
