Mentoring Takes Centre Stage in Marshall's New eLearning
London (UK), June 2021 - Marshall E-Learning are delighted to announce their development of a "one-stop" mentoring portal designed to give mentors and mentees a solid foundation for embarking on a mentoring programme. Developed in partnership with Professor Bob Garvey, one of Europe's leading academic practitioners of coaching and mentoring, this new course will guide learners through a range of expert content on various mentoring topics.
This course is designed for a range of different audiences, e.g. mentors/mentees looking for more in-depth training in the subject; those looking to create a mentorship scheme; or those merely curious about the process. Whichever it is, users will find the portal has something for them.
David Marshall, Owner at Marshall E-Learning, said, "We're so pleased to have worked with Bob Garvey on this exciting new course. The substantial amount of video footage that accompanies the module makes it extremely accessible, and the fact that it can be consumed on mobile, tablet, and laptop will make it appeal to an even more diverse audience."
Bob Garvey said, "I'm delighted with how this mentoring portal turned out. It is packed with help, guidance, support, and challenge in an accessible format that we think organisations will find hugely beneficial. It's been a great experience from start to finish working with Marshalls. They have been deeply responsive, collaborative, supportive, encouraging, and very professional."
Each topic can be accessed at any time and in any order and is accompanied by a video lecture located in the Resources section, alongside further material on any of the topics in this module.
Some of the key takeaways from this course are knowledge and understanding of the critical importance of building rapport and establishing ground rules; demonstrating the use of a process framework in mentoring; making informed critical and ethical judgments about the theory and practice of mentoring; as well as demonstrating key skills of listening and questioning.
The course includes the following sections:
- What is mentoring and what are the benefits?
- The historical development of mentoring
- What to expect from a mentoring session
- The mentoring session
- Reverse mentoring
- Video Lectures by Bob Garvey
- Resources
The course is available for translation and customisation and permits the addition of personalised photography, video, and policies, giving it a truly bespoke feel. To make it digitally accessible, a WCAG version is available, and it comes with a workbook.
