Lexia Core 5 Reading Users Show Improved Reading Skills

RAND Education and Labor, a division of the RAND Corporation, released a new study titled "Students Using Lexia® Core5® Reading Show Greater Reading Gains than Matched Comparison Students." Data for this study was provided by Lexia, part of Cambium Learning Group, and NWEA.

Virtual Reality App against MRI-Related Fear

Duisburg/Essen (GER), October 2021 - "You hear the noises, but they don't bother you at all". Since 2019, the "Pengunaut Trainer" has been preparing children for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations through role play. The app was developed under the leadership of the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) and the Essen University Hospital (UK Essen). It can already be downloaded free of charge for many smartphones.

Children’s Vulnerability to Online Games

Barcelona (E), June 2016 - Children are increasingly spending time online, abandoning the TV to seek out information and fun on the internet. Now that the internet has surpassed television as an advertising medium in Europe, children are even more exposed to online marketing strategies. A EU-funded study performed by the UOC's Open Evidence, along with the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Block de Ideas warns of the vulnerability of children to online games and reveals that the majority of the 25 most popular ones contain advertisements that could have a negative impact on children's behaviour.
