Game Gold Award for McDonald's Till Training
Brighton (UK), November 2014 - McDonald's UK and global learning solutions company City & Guilds Kineo are celebrating the success of their recent collaboration, having picked up the Gold Award for an innovative approach to systems training at the 2014 eLearning Awards.
The eLearning Awards, celebrating their tenth anniversary this year, are established as the leading channel for recognising excellence in eLearning and learning technology in the UK. The 2014 awards were one of the most fiercely contested yet, with entries from nineteen countries resulting in over 250 submissions across the 22 categories.
Gamification is a hot topic in learning at the moment, and the "Best learning game, simulation or virtual environment" category was one of the most hotly contested. The McDonalds’ Till Training programme has seen unprecedented success and demonstrates how learning can have a real business impact, generating over £23m of extra revenue so far.
Speaking of the award entry, the judges said, "Delivering high success rates, cost savings and a greater uptake of training and knowledge retention, the game has been an unquestionable success. This was an entry that has had a clear an ongoing business impact, spreading virally around the business with great learner engagement. This simple well-designed game stands out as a great example of how games can be used in learning."
City & Guilds Kineo (Winners of the Elearning Company of the Year award in 2013) were also shortlisted in a number of other categories alongside clients, including
