Open LMS Adds Sean Tierney to Leadership Team
Raleigh, NC (USA), February 2023 - Open LMS, a leading provider of open source learning management systems (LMS), has announced Sean Tierney as the company's new Vice President of Customer Success. He joins the Open LMS team at a pivotal time of rapid expansion, as the organization brings on more clients around the globe to help learners reach their fullest potential.
Tierney has a wealth of experience working in the software industry, which includes solutions consulting and customer success with a specific focus on proactive outreach to new clients and prospects. In his new role with Open LMS, Tierney will call upon his experience to lead the organization's customer success team to proactively address the challenges course creators face.
"Sean joins our team on the heels of our latest upgrade to our customer support system, where we aim to build and grow our client community, and encourage them to connect with one another," said Phill Miller, managing director of Open LMS. "We consistently hear from clients how much they value our customer service team, and we can't wait to build upon this momentum with Sean's expertise, which will undoubtedly take us to the next level."
Tierney previously served as the vice president of global-field sales support at Blackboard, where he led four cross-functional sales support teams, including solutions engineering, sales enablement, proposals, and specialists. Prior to that, he held various leadership roles at BMC Software.
"Open LMS has demonstrated a proven track record of putting its customers first, and I can't wait to hit the ground running to help push our team to new heights," Tierney said. "This includes going beyond supporting and answering tickets from customers to gaining a deeper understanding of our clients and addressing their unique challenges."
Open LMS's latest addition to its leadership team comes at an exciting time, as it prepares for its inaugural in-person Open LMS Connected 2023 conference later this month in Phoenix.
