What are Key Technologies to Support Educational Change?

Brussels (BE), February 2012 - MENON is conducting the study Mapping and Analysing Prospective Technologies for Learning (MATEL) on behalf of the European Commission - Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS). People interested in contributing to this research are cordially invited to participate in the survey before 26 February 2012.

There is a general awareness that learning pathways and objectives have to change for European societies to adequately address global challenges. This survey is being conducted to better understand whether, how, and which technologies can support learning evolution and change.

The survey is part of a study undertaken by MENON on behalf of the European Commission, Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS). The main objective of this investigation is to map and analyse existing, emerging, and future -œtechnologies- that support teaching and learning in various situations and are expected to impact educational change within a timeframe five to ten years from the present.

To be able to identify and classify these key technologies supporting learning, MENON is asking participants to complete the questionnaire. The term -œtechnologies- is used in its most broad sense, referring to devices, applications and trends, and the environment within which they operate, e.g., connectivity to Internet/cloud and the applications supported, either on the device itself or by virtue of its connectivity.

The two-part survey takes no longer than twenty minutes. Part 1 collects insights on technologies supporting educational change, and part 2 is about the participant's background and profile.
