Eighteenth International Conference on Learning
Mauritius (MU), June 2011 - In 2011, the Learning Conference will be held at the University of Mauritius, Mauritius from 05-08 July 2011. The International Conference on Learning is for any person with an interest in, and concern for, education at any of its levels and lifelong learning in any of its sites, from home to school to university to the workplace.
The Conference will address a range of critically important themes relating to education today. Plenary speakers will include Professor Vivienne Bozalek, the Director of Teaching and Learning at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), and Mokubung Nkomo, director of the Centre for Diversity and Social Cohesion at the University of Pretoria, amongst other leading thinkers in the field of education.
The Learning Conference is a participants' conference, including numerous parallel sessions. It is structured in paper, workshop, and colloquium sessions. Each themed stream has its own talking circle - a forum for focused discussion of issues. Plenary speakers are further available at one-hour-long -œGarden Conversations- - unstructured sessions that allow delegates a chance to meet the plenary speakers and talk with them informally about the issues arising from their presentation.
The Conference is an inclusive forum that welcomes academics, teachers, and education professionals interested in multiple levels and aspects of learning and education. For those unable to attend the Conference in person, virtual participation is also available.
